The subconscious mind
Everything we have heard, everything we have been told AND accepted as true, is stored in our subconscious mind (deep inside) as beliefs and as ‘truths’ – our personal truths anyway. Many of these personal truths started out as negative inputs, i.e. negative programming from other people. An individual’s behavior is based to a large degree on the information accumulated and accepted over that individual’s lifetime – his/her personal programming if you will.
This inner chatter that goes on underneath your ordinary thinking and constantly sabotages your life. They become self-fulfilling prophesies, these nagging little pieces of someone else’s opinion that you have accepted as true. They can eat away at your self esteem, at your ability to live a happy and fulfilling life.
So how do we combat this subversive inner sabotage of our best intentions? Well, the subconscious isn’t very good at deciding what information is correct or useful, in fact it pretty much takes in everything until it becomes “just the way it is” and then we act out of this inner “knowledge”. It turns out that this non-discriminatory ability of the subconscious, while being at the heart of our problem, can also be the very thing that saves us – if we can find a way to put it to good use.
The way to achieve this is to use what is called subliminal information processing (SIP). Investigations into the use of subliminals have been going on for some years and, although many people disagree as to its usefulness or even if it works at all, one man is convinced that this approach does indeed yield amazing results. Having tried it myself, I am also convinced that Dr. Eldon Taylor’s methods work – and work brilliantly.
Auditory Stimulation
Early research by Dr. Eldon Taylor and others proved that auditory stimulation is one of the most effective ways to change a state of mind He theorized that by using verbal stimuli (affirmations) just below the threshold of awareness, they could have a positive effect on the mood and even the behavior of the listener. These theories proved to be correct and this particular type of subliminal technology was born.
By definition, an ordinary subliminal tape is recorded at a sub-threshold level of awareness. By contrast Dr. Taylor’s method records messages at a perceptible level of awareness and the messages are disguised in what is best described as an audio illusion. (You may hear words from time to time.) So, by blending the affirmations with music or the sounds of nature in this way, normal conscious awareness is bypassed and yet the affirmations strongly register in the mind. We have incorporated Dr Taylor’s findings into our audio products.
As humans, we have a natural ability to absorb information, even when we are not thinking about it. The key to changing our state of mind is to do it with the least amount of conscious effort. Why? Well, conscious thought can interfere with and even prevent proper mind training. The art is to produce life-changing mind stimulation and absorption of information without the interference of conscious thought, to bypass the resistance in the mind and go to work at the subconscious level, producing change from the inside out.
So, according to Dr. Taylor, his techniques are effective because they allow positive messages to reach the subconscious mind, where they can produce positive results, without any conscious resistance. As I said before, this is very important because our subconscious mind is indiscriminate with the information it accepts over a lifetime. We have all given ourselves a ‘good talking to’ now and then, haven’t we? Did it do any good? Mostly not; New Year resolutions, sadly, are mostly history within a month or two.
Two Brains
You are aware, I’m sure, that the human brain is composed of two halves or hemispheres – the left and right brain. These two hemispheres work together or independently to process information and control our bodies.
The left brain is commonly called the analytical brain, and is thought to control such things as mathematical and language skills, organization, logic and reason. The right brain is often called the spatial brain, and it is thought to be responsible for creativity, emotions, intuitiveness, visualization and the like. Many scientists also believe the right hemisphere is associated with emotional and subconscious learning.
The brain’s halves work together to understand language both literally and spatially. SIP technology has been designed to involve both hemispheres of the brain according to their unique specialties. On one channel, accessing the left brain, meaningfully spoken permissive affirmations are delivered. On the second channel, directive messages are delivered to be recognized by the right brain’s unique spatial understanding. The channel-differentiated messages shadow each other from conscious recognition, but on the subconscious level where the perception takes place, the mind understands and receives these affirmations.
Now I want you to imagine what wonders are created when we combine both of these exciting technologies together. Brainwave entrainment and subliminal information processing! Deep induced meditation and all its benefits PLUS the ability to change how you perceive potential stressors! Can you see just how powerful these are together?
Well you don’t have to imagine or speculate. The Stress-proof your life range of audio CDs are available combining all the powerful technologies in one package.
